3 days-3 quotes Challenge: Day 2-Distant

3 days-3 quotes Challenge was given to me by my sweetest and kindest Sumyanna Writes …I am thankful and excited about this,if you have read my blog you must know that I right a lot of quotes, micropoetry but I love these challenges,be it these or a few word stories or writing for a word prompt.

In the quote here I would have loved to make it `they’ instead of `he’ though a `she’ is perfect(in my case),but I don’t want you to think that I’m writing about myself here like I’m an established something yet or will ever be,but yes farther away I do need to be to connect with myself, have always had the need, this quote could be for anybody, writers, researchers, scientists, philosophers…the more cut out these people are from society, the more they leave behind for others to read, learn, grasp, grow and to enlighten them…heck this could be about relationships too that’s precisely why I didn’t use `they’ because then it loses that impact, that ache if you are looking at this quote relationship-wise,I don’t want to elaborate more and spoil it for you,it is your’s for your interpretation, take it the way you want to,I’m not implying anything here,or better yet don’t think anything about what you just read, look at the picture, feel for yourself, listen to what it speaks to you,I do hope you like it though.

3 days-3 quotes Challenge: Day 1-Change

3 days-3 quotes Challenge was given to me by my sweetest and kindest Sumyanna Writes …I am thankful and excited about this,if you have read my blog you must know that I right a lot of quotes, micropoetry but I love these challenges,be it quotes or a few word stories or writing for a word prompt, actually I was never fond of prompt-writing,I always wanted poetry to be about what comes from within me but some days there is nothing that comes, then came along Sum and she tagged me to a prompt one day and I wrote and she encouraged me to write more and to believe in that a writer/poet can write for/about/on anything or should be able to,that stays with me even today, now everything is a prompt,I’m looking outside more than in these days, looking into stuff I would have otherwise not noticed and if you know Sumyanna or have read her poems you’ll know what I mean, she takes notice of every tiny detail and can write a poem even about the lines on the wings of a bee, true fact.
I was going through a low phase this past week,I have bouts of these,my struggle with myself, all in the inside, less sleep and lots of coffee seems to aggravate it and the sun not shining adds, but this challenge gave me reasons to smile, this post I dedicate to Sum and for the light that she is,I thank her for remembering me and urge her to believe me when I say that it really made my day to feel like our friendship matters,in this world where there is a dearth of true friends,we’ve survived,we’ve held on,if not for Sum many of my poems would never have been written, some of my good poems are those that I wrote for her ten-word prompts. The following quote is about acceptance, individuality, expectations…change.I hope it makes sense to you.

If you ask me to change…
that will be ripping me at the seams
that are woven at the edges
where I meet with myself

Drifting Contemplations: At Hello (micropoetry)

“You had me at hello” is one of the most famous quotes/lines from the movie Jerry Maguire which happens to be one of my most favourite movies, there are many beautiful lines in the movie,I always use “help me,help you” (mostly I say that to my son) then there is “you complete me”, “I’m a cautionary tale”, “I’m cloaked in failure”, “jump right into my nightmare, the water’s warm”, “I love him for the man he wants to be and for the man he almost is”, “the journey is everything” and of course “show me the money”,I find the movie very inspiring, love the story too…so these two micro poems were inspired by the line “you had me at hello”…
“hello” or “how are you?” are simple greetings but it makes a whole lot of difference and these everyday greetings carry more weight when said by the people we love, isn’t it?
I hope you like these writes…hope you’re doing well and hope your day is beautiful(chuckles).

To My Dearest Aunt Kathleen ( a couple of poems)

I’ll start by wishing my dearest Aunt Kathleen a very happy birthday and that these poems were written to her ages ago on two different occasions, one obviously for her birthday and the other when I was missing her when she was not in town, she’s a gem of a person, one of my most favourite people,I wish for her all that her heart desires today and everyday…

1.
Happy Birthday To Aunt Kathleen

Happy Birthday Aunt Kathleen
happy birthday to you
may you never lose your unmatched sheen
kindness and your captivating charm too…
You always enlighten me with your wisdom
and you leave me in awe of your dedication
towards all things that make your heart hum
also cherish our special connection…
I feel blessed to have known you
and I’ve never really shown you
that you are among my favourite few
and how much I appreciate opinion from the very knowledgeable you…
so this one’s for the livewire that you are
and the most zealous by far
may you have the best birthday yet and a great year too
Happy Birthday Aunt Kathleen
happy birthday to you

2.
To My Dearest Aunt Kathleen

Hello,Miss.’Smiling Irish Eyes’,
don’t hear much from you,
I miss you loads,almost thrice,
but soon I’ll see you.

Before that I have to say,
that though time’s less,
I never forget to pray,
pray that you are fine and that God bless.

I hope you haven’t forgotten me,
now sometimes in my dreams you come,
your thought alone makes me feel glee,
I hope for me in your mind you have place some.

You are one of my most favourite people on earth,
I miss you and love you a ton,
love for you,of that there’s no dearth,
cause you’re special,in the whole wide world just one.

I hope the world down under is treating you fine,
I’m sure you must’ve made beautiful memories of good times,
I hope you’re thinking of me,the way I am of you,
and on this side of the world, there’s never a day that goes by without me thinking of you.

Love you loads,Aunt Kathleen.

* Aunt Kathleen is my friend Karen’s mother,we bond like a house on fire. She’s beautiful, thoughtful, caring, kindhearted, sensible, profound but also immense fun and young at heart. Before blogging,i used to ask her to review my poems and she’d indulge me with a feedback always.Infact she’s the one who suggested that i put my poems on a site.I’m thankful to her for a lot of things, esp.for the support she’s been but mostly for being there for me when she needn’t have to.When Abbu came into this world,Aunty was there with me throughout for 8 hours or so inspite of my Mom being there for me and she was the one who announced that i delivered a boy,i always wanted a boy and in India the law forbids knowing the sex of the baby before delivery. So it was such a joy to hear esp.from Aunty that i was blessed with a boy,i remember her saying “Seema you did it” and i was then handed Abbu and i cried and laughed and we hugged.I can never in my life forget what immense love and support and some shouting too i got from Aunty dearest. She’s special,we’re special.Love her and her name Kathleen in Irish means “Smiling Irish Eyes”. She’s in Australia visiting her son and she’s been gone a long time,i hope she comes back safe and sound and soon. Her i love, miss and think about.
