Toxic was written for a writing challenge on Instagram where we had to write for Rayvon Owen’s song Air, we could write keeping the mood of the song in mind or simply for a word from the song or a line, these words just came to me and I had fun writing, I hope you enjoy reading.

I refuse to breathe the air that
doesn’t have your fragrance…
…to me it is toxic…
I find myself gasping for breath…
drowning in the vacuum of this nothingness…
I’ll breathe easy only when
you are in my vicinity…
this distance is killing me…
…no I don’t accept this air…
don’t want it reaching my lungs…
unless it is enriched with your touch…
I refuse to breathe this air…
unless I have your breath on my face…
